Course Introduction

The course will investigate the purposes and potential uses of formative and summative assessment and the relationship between the two. It will help students to review critically assessment of learning and assessment for learning, deepening their understanding of the principal concepts of educational testing and their uses.

Assessment (issues and practice); educational testing; investigating research into schooling, curriculum, teaching and learning.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum of an upper 2nd Class UK Honours degree in a relevant subject or an overseas qualification of an equivalent standard.
