Open to international students only, our BSc Economics with Econometrics (with International Foundation Year) is suitable for you if your academic qualifications do not yet meet our entrance requirements for an undergraduate degree. This four'year course includes a foundation year (Year Zero), followed by a further three years of undergraduate study. International students who are admitted to this programme will normally be eligible for a four'year CAS and student visa. This will last the duration of the degree. Our English language and academic skills modules supplement your academic subjects. Study economics for a constantly changing world. This degree allows you to specialise in economic statistics, while also exploring key areas of modern economy and society. At Goldsmiths we encourage you to face the new and evolving challenges of economics today by thinking outside the box and marrying innovation with tradition. This degree allows you to investigate economics from different theoretical and empirical perspectives, developing an understanding of the social and business context of economics today. It provides you with an excellent grounding in economic theory with a further specialisation in economic statistics. This means you will not only study advanced modules in econometrics and economic mathematics, but you will also investigate broader empirical questions that explore the different uses of data within economics and the social sciences. In Year three module 'From National Statistics to Big Data' we explore the latest research findings in the uses of new data sets, not only as utilized by economists, but also by other social scientists. This will help you gain cutting edge knowledge about how emerging technologies influence the statistical work that economists do. London is the financial hub of the UK, and you will have access to today's business leaders, economists and policy practitioners, through events taking place at Goldsmiths.
