Course Introduction

This programme will provide you with knowledge and expertise in Internet systems and technologies with basic and advanced levels of business aspects for not only providing the usual Internet service businesses, but also for generating new Internet business opportunities. Technological expertise and the business angle provided in this programme will give you the necessary qualification to further your career in either technology development fields or technology management with possible new business and entrepreneurship development opportunities.

Course Modules

Modules include: Collaborative project; internet and communication networks; internet of things and applications; individual project, dissertation, business plan or placement. Optional modules include: Innovation management; entrepreneurship; intellectual property; strategy and planning; understanding business failure; fundamentals of multimedia signals and processing; media processing and coding; advanced 3D user environments; content and network security; introduction to programming and MatLab; mobile networks and wireless networks; media applications, design and quality of experience; funding.

Course Additional Entry

Minimum of a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in electronics, computing, physics, mathematics or a related degree with industrial experience from a UK university, or an equivalent overseas qualification recognised by Loughborough University. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (reading, listening, writing and speaking) or equivalent.
