Course Introduction

This programme will provide you with the essential knowledge and expertise in the latest mobile and wireless technologies driving the mobile internet evolution. As the demand for low'latency high'speed mobile data access with the use of smart phones and bandwidth'intensive wireless multimedia applications continue to proliferate in a rapidly'paced manner, this programme will place you in a prominent position in this key technology area. This programme has been designed to cover those key areas and advanced knowledge in broadband, mobile, and wireless communication networks. Future internet architectures and related application areas are also covered. This programme will comprise elements for combining 2 exciting worlds, namely the internet with the latest mobile and wireless systems. This is envisaged to equip you with a unique opportunity to broaden your understanding and appreciation into both key technologies.

Course Modules

Modules include: Individual project, dissertation, business plan or placement; collaborative project; internet and communication networks; internet of things and applications; mobile broadband and wireless networks; second subject module. Optional modules include: Advanced 3D user environments; introduction to programming and Matlab; media cloud applications and services.

Course Additional Entry

Minimum of a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in electronics, physics and related degree course from a UK university or equivalent overseas qualification recognised by Loughborough University. English language requirements: IELTS 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (reading, listening, writing and speaking) or equivalent.
