Course Introduction

Students are provided with concepts and skills for a variety of consumer, commercial, national and international markets across industry sectors. These skills are applied and developed in interdisciplinary and international design projects. How can the innovation process support the development of new products and services? This programme opens up the processes of design and innovation and allows students to evaluate and test their ideas through a series of individual and group projects designed to develop innovative designers. Through the process students respond to briefs from industry partners, develop products and business concepts.

Course Modules

Modules include: Design thinking; reflection and action; meaning making in design; international project; individual project, dissertation, business plan or placement; innovation management; entrepreneurship; intellectual property; collaborative project.

Course Additional Entry

Minimum of a lower 2nd Class Honours degree in design or related subjects. English language requirements: IELTS: 6.5 overall, with a minimum of 6.0 in each subtest (reading, listening, writing and speaking) or equivalent.
