Course Introduction

BSc (Hons) Computer Science combines the expertise of computer science and informatics with electrical and electronic engineering and offers the opportunity to study the theory and the practical approach of computation and the design and implementation of various applications. This programme explores a wide range of computer science topics from the algorithmic essentials and hardware foundations to software and virtual machines and their applications for a variety of fields in today's fast'changing marketplace. This course offers a balanced programme of theory of computation, programming, algorithms and data structures and formal methods for software and hardware design and covers various specialty areas. Towards the end of the course you'll be able to specialise in a variety of aspects of computer science including computer engineering; big data and business intelligence; collaborative computing and devices and sensors.
