Course Introduction

The BA (Hons) Liberal Studies (International Relations) emphasises the understanding of global issues and world cultures and traces the political, social, ideological and economic history of the world. The curriculum is designed to enable you to examine and understand the complexities and processes involved in the relationships between institutions of international governance. It is also designed to help you understand the behaviour of states, by studying the structures that make up the international system.You will explore the dynamics, structural characteristics, humanitarian issues and international political economics operating within the global community. The curriculum is interdisciplinary and you will take classes which examine the complexities of different regions in the world, including international organisations, diplomacy, war and peace, human rights and many more.
