Course Introduction

The programme provides a global perspective on global shipping management issues and also a high quality of delivery from subject matter experts, from both industry and academia; the programme also features software products and computer'based training from market leaders in the relevant subject areas.

Course Modules

Shipping strategy and management research methodology; individual project; technical elements of ships, maritime conventions and regulations and maritime security; maritime law and maritime insurance; maritime economics and global business management; accounting, finance and planning for the shipping industry; commercial management of ships supply chain management.

Course Additional Entry

1st degree in a business, law, science or technology discipline with at least a 2nd Class award; merchant marine or royal navy officer qualifications (or overseas equivalent) with relevant sea'experience and/or equivalent shore based work experience also considered; students with appropriate professional and vocational experience may be considered for the programme subject to demonstrating the potential to succeed in the programme; particular attention is paid to the level of relationship of each individual candidate with the oil and gas industries; overseas qualifications are considered on an individual basis.
