Course Introduction

Our BA in English and American Literature offers students: the comparative study of different national traditions and cultures across four centuries a combination of historical spine and the choice of topic wide'ranging options in such areas as African'American literature, satire, New York School poetry, drama, the urban novel, music, and the novella, as well as over 30 established options in English literature, theory and postcolonial literature a degree informed by the creative/critical mix of the department, which includes practicing American novelists who teach on the degree the opportunity to study abroad and in other departments.
