Course Introduction

This course offers a wide range of modules to develop the skills and knowledge that a practicing nutritionist will need. Modules range from life cycle nutrition and public health nutrition to nutrigenomics. Students have the choice in selecting modules of personal and professional interest.

Course Modules

Semester 1 modules: principles of human nutrition 1; principles of nutrition 2; nutrition and chronic disease; sports nutrition. Semester 2 modules: research methods and statistics; public health nutrition; life cycle nutrition; nutrigenomics; applied sports nutrition; advanced anthropometry. Self'directed learning modules: research project; emerging issues in nutrition.

Course Additional Entry

The minimum entry requirement for applicants is an undergraduate degree in the bioscience field, applicants with at least a lower 2nd class category will be considered. Applicants should normally be able to demonstrate a background in research methods or a related discipline. All applicants will be asked to attend an interview prior to acceptance.
