The programme seeks to prepare aspiring individuals for a managerial career within either the tourism and aviation industry. For existing practitioners it offers the opportunity to develop and redefine knowledge and assess trends and changing management practices within their industry. The internship course seeks to provide a 28 week period of paid work experience incorporated into the period of study. This makes it ideal for students seeking to add a practical dimension to their studies and understand the demands of workplace supervision and management.
Tourism and aviation principles and practice; understanding the consumer; responsible tourism and aviation; organisational behaviour in theory and practice; destination management; strategic management for the tourism and aviation industry; aviation operations management consultancy; the internship.
Course Additional Entry
Applicants would normally be expected to have a good Honours degree (2.2 or above) in any subject from a UK university, or equivalent. All applications are considered on their individual merits. The course welcomes applications from mature and non'standard entry students. Here interview procedures are expected to apply. In all instances 2 references are required. International students need to meet our English language requirement at either IELTS at 6.5 or above, and a minimum of 5.5 for each of the 4 individual components.
