LAMDA has been training directors for almost 20 years and our graduates have gone on to work at the National Theatre, the Royal Shakespeare Company, the Royal Court, the Royal Exchange Theatre, Williamstown Theater Festival and the Young Vic. The success of our training lies in our receptiveness to current industry practice coupled with our commitment to preparing students for all aspects of performance production. This results in visionary and versatile directors who are equipped for sustainable careers in the industry. In addition to extensive production work, students receive masterclasses from visiting playwrights, producers, agents and directors.
Students undertake a programme of practical classwork; reflective tutorials and attachments as assistant directors on LAMDA productions; supporting the work of professional practitioners.
