Course Introduction

On this course, students train for a professional role, developing skills that are transferable to other design areas of the built environment. Students learn about the inter'relationships and multidisciplinary nature of the built environment, and gain a broad understanding of the work of fellow professionals in neighbouring disciplines. This course also emphasises sustainable design and construction

Course Modules

Year 1: building technology; health and safety; building and planning regulations; core studies; design procedure; construction materials; construction management; work'based company review. Year 2: integrated construction project; advanced technology; conversion and adaptation; construction laboratories; design technology.
