Course Introduction

Who has the power to make decisions that affect us? How do they obtain and exercise that power? These are just a few of the questions you will address in this unique and stimulating course. Taught by notable lecturers such as Professor Mark Wheeler, you will learn about a variety of issues including citizenship and democracy, authority, ethics, equality, political economy and political ideologies. Recent graduates have embarked on careers in the Civil Service as local government officers or political researchers. Some of our graduates have become Members of Parliament (MPs) and infamous public relations 'spin doctors'! Added value: Our students learn from distinguished guest speakers like David Lammy MP and Lord Maurice Glasman.
