Course Introduction

The BA (Hons) Business Management provides you with a very good understanding of everything that is required for a career in management; from economics to human resources, marketing and entrepreneurship. Theories are applied in a business simulation to enhance understanding and make learning fun. The course is also accredited by the Chartered Management Institute (CMI) and you will receive a diploma in addition to your degree award.

Course Modules

Year 1 topics include: global business environment; challenges for the 21st century manager; managing information and accounting; managing people and organisations. Year 2 topics include: business fecision making; serving customers in global markets; entrepreneurship, innovation and leadership; business management creativity and innovation. Choose 1 from: transferable learning 1; learning through work 1; work related development 1. Optional choices include: essential psychology for managers; developing creativity; the ethical worker; business management creativity and innovation; regulation of business creations; organisation, design and management and global marketing. Year 3 topics include: strategy (choices and impact); regulation and management in the global community; management investigation and recruitment report. Choose 1 from: transferable learning 2; learning through work 2; work related development 2. Optional choices include: critical perspectives on management and leadership; services marketing; coaching and mentoring; managing corporate reputation; regulation of business creations; theory and practice of selling; managing crisis and risk.
