The programme aims to provide professionals from education, training and allied fields with a doctoral programme at the forefront of professional and academic practice through taught coursework and a supervised thesis; to provide an overarching teaching and learning strategy designed to enable students to engage in the development of their roles as advanced professionals and researchers within the education, training, health and allied fields; to develop comprehensive, contemporary, advanced knowledge of content, research methods and theoretical context in an area of professional practice selected by the student, leading to a contribution to knowledge informed by original research and/or scholarship.
Modules include: Research methodology; critical analysis; preliminary investigation; research/writing for publication; research thesis; education and training policy; teaching and learning; leadership and management; professionals in society; curriculum development.

A Master's degree (not necessarily in education); and have at least three years' professional experience.
