Course Introduction

A variation of the Banking and Finance BSc (Hons) degree, this course includes a further year in paid employment in a financial services related organisation and is an excellent way to boost your employability. After graduating, our students have found employment with Goldman Sachs, JP Morgan and the Royal Bank of Scotland as financial analysts, investment bankers, credit analysts and traders. Added value: Case studies and presentations by industry representatives are also made during the course, providing you with topical and practical insights into the financial services industry.

Course Modules

Year 1 topics include: financial markets and law; economics; quantitative methods; accounting. Year 2 topics include: bank lending and the legal environment; risk and insurance; corporate finance and investment; money and banking; financial service management. Year 3 topics include: year'long work placement; empirical research in global banking and finance and project; international finance. Optional choices include: financial instruments and financial engineering; organisation and service management in financial services; EU and financial regulation; corporate social responsibility and governance; advanced financial law; information for financial services; personal finance; marketing of financial services.
