Throughout the course, theory and practice are integrated in both the university and school contexts. The course is planned and delivered in partnership with mathematics colleagues in local schools. The teachers' standards are mapped to every aspect of course provision to facilitate the best possible opportunities to support the process of professional learning.
Course Additional Entry
Applicants are required to have: an undergraduate or postgraduate degree in the field in which they intend to teach, normally this should be a 2.2 classification or above in preparation for Master's level professional study; mathematics and English grades A* to C or equivalent at GCSE level; passed the required Skills Tests, via the UCAS TT application cycle. Brunel University London will accept applications for our PGCE courses prior to completion of the NCTL Skills Tests. However, if applicants are offered a place on one of the programmes and have yet to meet the requirements of passing the Skills Tests, then their offer will be conditional based on passing these tests by a date specified in their offer letter. Applicant's whose 1st language is not English require: IELTS 7 (min 6 in all areas); Pearson 64 (51 in all subscores); BrunELT 70 per cent (min 60 per cent in all areas).
