Course Introduction

This programme allows students to study law in the region and its application in a broad range of legal areas, including human rights, as well as its relationship to society in the Middle East and North Africa.

Course Modules

Critical jurisprudence in Islamic law and society; foundations of comparative law; human rights and Islamic law; Islamic law; law and society in the Middle East and North Africa; law, human rights and peace'building: the Israeli'Palestinian case; religion and comparative constitutionalism; sociological approaches to law; dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

Minimum upper 2nd Class Honours degree (or equivalent) in law.
