Course Introduction

This programme is delivered by academics who are actively engaged in developing bioinformatics tools and applying them in areas such as genome sequencing, proteomics, evolution, ecology, psychology, cancer, diabetes and other diseases.

Course Modules

Modules include: Genome bioinformatics; coding for scientists; data analysis and visualisation; post'genomics bioinformatics; group bioinformatics software development project.

Course Additional Entry

Applicants are expected to have a minimum of a 2nd class Honours degree in a relevant subject such as biology, biochemistry, medicine, or genetics; preference are given to candidates with an upper 2nd class or 1st class degree; individuals with relevant professional qualifications or other relevant experience and qualifications can also be considered. English language proficiency is required at the standard level for PGT S and E entry (IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 92, PTE academic 62). International applicants: if their 1st language is not English, students must provide evidence of their English language proficiency. If students do not meet language or scholarly requirements it might be possible for them to undertake foundation or pre'sessional programmes that prepare students for the masters programme.
