Course Introduction

This degree will give you an excellent grounding in the study of education. You'll explore wider cultural and historical aspects of education as well as developing a thorough understanding of the teaching and learning process.

Course Modules

Year 1: what is education; study skills; the relationship between psychology and education; constructing childhood; community family and children; language, literacy and learning. Year 2: developing mathematical thinking: introduction to social and developmental cognition: interpersonal interactions: alternative education setting placement: barriers to learning: equality, culture and citizenship. Year 3: project; applied personality, intelligence and testing; creativity in education; applied assessment for learning; contextualising education globally.
