Course Introduction

This is the music programme for you if you want to study musical composition at an advanced level. The course focuses on providing you with a thorough understanding of the twentieth and twenty'first centuries' main compositional techniques and then supporting you as you use apply this knowledge to your own original work. You'll have regular opportunities to hear your work played. Our Composition students have worked with Piano Circus, Nephele Ensemble, Robert Millett, Zoe Martlew and Apartment House amongst others. You're also free to add options in performance, sonic art and musicology to your core composition modules.
