Course Introduction

Recognised by CIMA, ACCA and CFA UK, based in the School of Business, Economics and Informatics, the Department of Management is an internationally recognised centre of excellence in teaching, research and consultancy in the broad field of management. Our academic staff are active researchers as well as enthusiastic teachers, and regularly publish cutting'edge articles in the world's leading journals. We have particular research strengths in international business and strategy, the management of innovation and entrepreneurship, human resource management, corporate governance, sport management and marketing, as well as financial management and accounting. We offer students of all ages and backgrounds a chance to study either part'time or full'time in our department and to gain an internationally recognised University of London qualification. Course Modules

Year 1: Data analysis for business; introduction to accounting; management studies; quantitative methods 1. Year 2: Financial reporting; managerial economics 1; managerial economics 2; quantitative methods 2; option (15 credits). Year 3: Advanced management accounting; financial management; marketing principles and practices; strategic management. Year 4: options (90 credits), of which at least 60 credits in finance. Any two option modules (worth 30 credits) from the following list: auditing; commercial law for business; employment relations and HRM; entrepreneurship and small business; international business; management of innovation; marketing strategy; research methods in management; taxation. Any two option modules (60 credits) from the following finance'related modules: applied financial management; financial institutions and regulation; international finance; portfolio management.
