Course Introduction

This course is specially designed for those working, or who intend to work, with children and young people over 11 years old who may have specific learning difficulties (SpLDs) linked to dyslexia, dyspraxia, dyscalculia, ADHD, or Asperger Syndrome and who may perhaps also be experiencing behavioural and emotional issues.

Course Modules

Modules you will take towards the completion of this course: Postgraduate Certificate: Definitions and theories of dyslexia and specific learning difficulties (30 credits, year'long); Postgraduate Certificate: Specific learning difficulties and effective learning (professional practice) (30 credits, year'long); Postgraduate Diploma: Practice'based research project (40 credits, year'long); Postgraduate Diploma: Either research methods in education or specialist study module (20 credits, autumn); Master's: Dissertation (60 credits).

Course Additional Entry

A 1st degree from a UK university or equivalent. Additionally, a full, current disclosure and barring service check is a mandatory requirement of taking part in this course. You will be required to undertake this prior to enrolling on the course. Mature applicants (over 21) who do not meet the standard entry requirement are most welcome to apply.
