Course Introduction

Situated steps from Brick Lane's fringe art and design scene, you'll be learning through practice in a busy, creative environment where opportunities to work with high'profile clients are a highlight ' current students are working on ambitious live projects with the Bank of England and the Royal Society of Arts/Samosa social enterprise unit. Media related theory and professional practice run alongside practical hands'on experience with opportunities for creative collaborations and for public screenings of your work at the Cass Gallery and pop'up events and festivals including the annual Eat My Shorts event at the National Film Theatre. Our pro'active, dedicated staff have supported graduates to go on to work for Channel 4, Sky, CNBC, as well as practising as successful independent film'makers and artists. Added value: You can join our on'campus film club, the CASS Cinema Academy (see Facebook) and other thriving live projects such as CASS TV and WE MAKE FILMS.

Course Modules

Level 1 topics include: basic technical skills in camera and post'production; scriptwriting; production management; visual design for the screen; communications and film theory. Level 2 topics include: intermediate technical skills in cinematography and editing; drama production; media theory; film studies. Level 3 topics include: major project: pre'production; marketing and self'promotion; major project: production.
