Course Introduction

This professionally accredited course concentrates on building up your problem' solving, mathematical reasoning, statistics, operational research and general IT skills to help you find a suitable career. The course is particularly suitable for those who are coming back to maths after a break, or who don't have the right formal mathematics qualifications but are passionate about the subject. Course Modules

Year 1 topics include: logic and mathematical techniques; mathematical proof and structures; mathematical programming; financial maths with statistics 1. Year 2 topics include: calculus and linear algebra; project management; work related learning; computational mathematics. Options include: discrete mathematics and group theory; financial mathematics with statistics 2. Year 3 topics include: academic independent study; mathematical modelling; further calculus and differential equations; statistics with financial mathematics 3. Options include: financial and statistical modelling; cryptography and coding theory; algebra and analysis; mathematics of infinity; extension of knowledge module.
