If you see yourself working in the sports and leisure industries, or independently as a personal trainer, then this course is an ideal way in. We combine practical work in our state'of'the' art sports science laboratories, and gym with an in'depth scientific exploration of anatomy, physiology, biomechanics, sports psychology and sports nutrition to help prepare you for that first step. Year 1 topics include: underlying physiology and biochemistry; introduction to different aspects of sports science; research and data'handling skills; principles of sports training. Year 2 topics include: biomechanics; exercise physiology; sports psychology; physical performance assessment; sports coaching; sports sociology. Year 3 topics include: research project; advanced exercise physiology; applied and environmental sports physiology; advanced sports psychology; Olympic studies.
