Course Introduction

This course offers flexible study options for healthcare professionals undertaking obstetrics, gynaecology and / or abdominal ultrasound training and for those wishing to develop their skills further using work based learning options.

Course Modules

Modules include: Fundamental principles of ultrasound practice (core module); developing advanced practice (core module); gynaecology ultrasound; obstetric ultrasound; abdominal ultrasound; research methods (core for MSc); dissertation (core for MSc); work'based learning; student negotiated module; introduction to research methods and applied data analysis or foundations of research methods and applied data analysis (core for MSc).

Course Additional Entry

A 2nd Class Honours degree or above in radiography, nursing, midwifery or another relevant subject; other relevant qualifications or clinical experience are considered; Health Professions Council (HPC), Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC), General Medical Council (GMC) registration is desirable; students are required have a clinical placement in place in a recognised UK hospital prior to application with an average of three days per week scanning experience needed throughout the course.
