Course Introduction

The course seeks to address inequalities in mortality, disease, disability, and medical care internationally. Global health is also about recognizing and responding to causes of disease that cross national borders and role of global institutions. This innovative MSc programme is designed for individuals seeking advanced skills in the critical analysis of the drivers of global health inequalit

Course Modules

Modules include: Critical global health; global health ethics; dissertation in global health & social justice; designing quantitative research for social science and health or designing; qualitative research for social science and health. Optional modules: researching vulnerable populations; ageing in global society; pharmaceuticals and society; war, trauma and psychiatry; the politics of disasters and emergencies; genomics and society; psychiatry, culture and globalisation; the global bioeconomy; social and ethical controversies in biomedicine; social science approaches to biomedicine; translational research: linking medicine, science and society; internship module.

Course Additional Entry

A 1st Class or upper 2nd Class (2:1) Honours degree (or the equivalent from an overseas university); candidates with a lower 2nd Class degree or with professional qualifications with relevant work experience are considered.
