Course Introduction

This course provides training to mental health professionals and non'clinical academics interested in early intervention in psychosis, a clinical approach which focuses on the detection and management of early symptoms and is effective in reducing the long'term impact of psychotic illness. This course offers clinical placement in a world class early intervention service.

Course Modules

Modules include: Early intervention service implementation; pharmacological interventions in early psychosis; psychosocial interventions in early psychosis; research methods in early psychosis; research project in early psychosis; indicative non'core content; all above courses are compulsory; there are no optional courses.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree (2.1 or above) in medicine; psychology; nursing; professions allied to medicine (e.g. radiography) or a scientific degree such as biomedical science; neuroscience; or computer science. Ability to speak/understand oral and written English as specified by standard college requirements.
