Course Introduction

' We combine the best of traditional theatre studies, including comedies, musicals and playwriting. ' A work placement module provides experience in a theatre or performance organisation. ' Regular guest speakers from performance industries. Recent speakers have included: Simeilia Hodge'Dallaway (The National Theatre's Black Plays), Georgia Dale (The Young Vic), Sam Stevenson (casting director for the BBC, ITV, Sky, RSC and the National Theatre). ' Roehampton is ranked best modern university in London (Sunday Times Good University Guide 2015).

Course Modules

Year 1: thinking through theatre; stages and staging 1; stages and staging 2; contemporary professional practices; London's arts 1; London's arts 2. Year 2: introduction to arts management; studio theatre production. Year 3: applied theatre/community performance (perspectives and methods); independent production project; independent project.
