Course Introduction

The programme is designed to promote an academic approach to contemporary issues in childhood. Sociological perspectives encourage examination of children's experiences, the ways in which childhood is socially and culturally constructed, and reflection upon international policy and practice.

Course Modules

Modules include: International children's rights; global childhoods; child health and development; social research methods; child protection; contemporary issues in education; plus option to take modules from other programmes.

Course Additional Entry

A 2.1 Honours degree or an equivalent qualification in a subject relevant to work with children; and/or substantial professional work experience in a relevant field.
