Course Introduction

This course provides an opportunity for students who are already working in the healthcare sector (e.g. GPs, physiotherapists, chiropractors, osteopaths, midwives, nurses), or who already possess a degree, to study acupuncture. The course provides students with a grounding in the principles and applications of acupuncture, including the theory of yin and yang, five elements, tongue diagnosis, pulse diagnosis etc; Meridians, acupuncture points and traditional needling techniques; moxibustion, cupping, electro'acupuncture, ear acupuncture and scalp acupuncture.

Course Modules

Modules include: Principles of traditional chinese medicine and acupuncture; clinical diagnostics; integrated clinical sciences; professional development and research; clinical acupuncture techniques; acupuncture points and meridians; clinical acupuncture treatment; acupuncture clinical practice; dissertation.

Course Additional Entry

Candidates should hold a Bachelor's degree or equivalent qualification. Applicants possessing qualifications as a healthcare professional will be able to apply for accreditation of prior learning.
