Course Introduction

The programme focuses on heritage in London and the interpretation of urban place; it provides students with an in depth theoretical and practical understanding of oral history and memory; it includes numerous opportunities to develop skills in digital media production, and the opportunity to explore heritage issues in East London.

Course Modules

Memory, heritage and the politics of the past (core); heritage and visual cultures (core); place, oral history and digital heritage (core); dissertation or project (core); 1 option (subject to availability) ; ethnographic museums (option); exhibiting the body (option); museum sensescapes (option); creating a public: museums and their audiences (option).

Course Additional Entry

Minimum 2.2 Honours degree in history, geography, history of art or musuem studies. Overall IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 6.0 in Writing, Speaking, Reading and Listening (or recognised equivalent).
