This programme develops the theoretical underpinning and the practice of career guidance; most students take the qualification in careers guidance (QCG), the nationally recognised professional qualification awarded by the institute of career guidance (ICG), alongside the PgDip; the 1 or 2 year programme provides students with the capability to work with adults and young people in the wide range of settings in which career guidance is practised.
Modules include: Introduction to guidance practice; career theory in action; professional development and reflection; working in partnership (community); working in partnership (education); advanced guidance practice; placements.
