Course Introduction

The programme covers a comprehensive and historicised engagement with the field of black British writing; students study the scope of diasporic and aesthetic routes and roots that inform traditions of black'centred performance and poetics shared by the richly diverse texts that we study.

Course Modules

Core modules: historicising the field; interculturality, text, poetics; dissertation; plus optional modules; genre and aesthetics; Caribbean women and representation.

Course Additional Entry

At least a 2.1 Honours degree in a relevant subject area; if applicants 1st language is not English you need a minimum score of 7.0 in IELTS (including 7.0 in the written element) or equivalent.
