Course Introduction

Topics available for research include: controlling nucleation in soldering; dislocations, irradiation creep and submicron pinning particles; effect of impurities on solid'liquid interactions in calcium aluminate refractories; fatigue mechanisms and overload effects in Ti alloys; finite element modelling and experimental characterisation of stress corrosion'cracking of primary nuclear plant materials; theory and simulation of materials; plastic electronic materials.
