Course Introduction

Research includes automatic image segmentation and labelling, image and video registration, and video processing; whilst the majority of this research is within medical and biological/microscopy data, there is also significant research into generic computer vision methods; in collaboration with the Neurotechnology Group, there is significant activity in the development of algorithms inspired by studies of biological computation; these include, but are not limited to, wavelet models for spatial receptive fields, machine learning techniques and information theoretic approaches to efficient object retrieval.
