Course Introduction

This project aims at the development of a new method to tackle excited states in a different manner from those currently existing, with a lower computational cost; students use this new method as well as existing methods to study the excited states of molecules, focusing on the light'harvesting components of artificial photosynthetic devices to attempt to understand how they work and guide their continuing development.

Course Additional Entry

1st or upper 2nd Class MSci or MChem Honours degree or equivalent; applicants should also have a grounding in conventional electronic structure theory as well as some familiarity with scientific programming in a language such as Fortran or C.
