Course Introduction

Researchers seek to understand the pervasive role of mechanics in biology by combining the latest tools of engineering and the life sciences to answer the most pressing questions in health and disease; with specific interests in cardiovascular, musculoskeletal, orthopaedic, ophthalmic, and respiratory systems, investigators apply experimental, computational and theoretical approaches to understand how mechanical forces impact biological function at the molecular, cellular, tissue, organ and organism levels.
