Course Introduction

The research concerns the records of life in Earth rocks; the college uses a fusion of cutting'edge computational and classical field and optical methods to reveal life's remains that have become entombed in rock; the outcomes of these investigations are detailed reconstructions of past life and its environment; topics available for research include: the phylogenetic history and evolutionary potential of living fossils; diversity crash at the Jurassic/Cretaceous boundary: a forgotten mass extinction; investigating the punctuation'stasis model through computer'simulation of evolutionary patterns; computational fluid dynamics of oxycone ammonites.
