Course Introduction

This interdisciplinary postgraduate programme introduces the problems, knowledge and practice of human'computer interaction and ergonomics. The programme aims to teach students, through information, demonstration, exploration and application, a scientific human'centred approach to the design and evaluation of a wide range of interactive systems and products, and their contexts of use.

Course Modules

Core modules: interactive design: the design and evaluation of interactive systems; interaction sciences: theory, concepts and research methods in HCI. Options: affective interaction; future interfaces; human factors of healthcare; physical computing and prototyping; special topics in human'computer interaction.

Course Additional Entry

A minimum of an upper 2nd Class degree in computer science, psychology or ergonomics or a minimum of an upper 2nd Class degree in a computer science, psychology, or ergonomics related field (such as interface design, business information technology, product design). Account will be taken of any relevant practical or work experience.
