Course Introduction

This programme is designed for students with a good academic background who wish to improve their research skills and do a substantial piece of dissertation research; the research training modules are the same as those taken by MPhil/PhD students; the MRes is suitable for students who are considering undertaking a phd in management; have particular research strengths in: International business and strategy, the management of innovation and entrepreneurship, human resource management, corporate governance, sport management and marketing, as well as financial management and accounting; we offer students of all ages and backgrounds a chance to study either part'time or full'time in department and to gain an internationally recognised university of london qualification.

Course Modules

You complete 6 modules (totalling 90 credits) and a 20,000'word dissertation (worth 90 credits). 3 of the modules are compulsory. You can choose an alternative module in quantitative methods to Statistical Methods for Business Research ' several are available. You choose the other 3 modules from any postgraduate option module available within the Department of Management. You can also choose to study option modules offered by other departments, subject to approval. Core modules include: Principles of organization and management; research methods in management I. Option modules ' group 1: Qualitative research methods; statistical methods for business research. Option modules ' group 2 (choose one): Accounting and financial management; marketing principles and practices; multinational financial management; perspectives on organization; principles of human resource management; strategic management (postgraduate).

Course Additional Entry

Normally at least a second'Class Honours degree in any subject area from a UK university or a non'UK equivalent. A professional or other qualification obtained by written examinations approved by the College. Relevant experience, supporting statements and references may be taken into consideration, especially in the case of non'standard applications. If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub'tests.
