St Mary's University, Twickenham

Course Introduction

This Foundation Degree has been designed to develop autonomous health and fitness professionals after two years. A key element of the course is the strong vocational aspect. Students are frequently required to place their academic and work'based learning into context via modules relating to Health and Fitness, but also in work'related modules such as Professional Observation, Work Placement and Business Development. The course has been developed with local industry employers and external accreditation organisations in mind and students are encouraged to build on their professional experience and industry qualifications. Successful completion of the programme leads to the award of a Foundation Degree and provides students with the opportunity of spending a further year completing a BSc (Hons) Health and Exercise Science degree.
