With the 2nd wave of internet development as an integrated part of both the public and private sectors, there is greater realism and a recognition of the need to ensure that organisations implement effective management techniques. This course examines the issues and opportunities in the development of interactive digital media, particularly in relation to the internet. It analyses the role of digital media in different sectors and the wider issues of marketing and publishing. You will: Learn practical project management skills and develop the experience to manage interactive projects; develop the skills needed to design a professional plan for a personal or business'related project, and will assess the risks related to that project; review your approach and progress critically during the programme, and will apply learning in the practical context of your project; be required to present your ideas clearly and effectively to your chosen audience. You may use the course to develop plans for assessing the potential for commercial projects or starting a small business.
Students take 4 compulsory modules. Modules include: Digital media in education; training and communication; digital media management project; managing development; marketing, publishing and legal implications.
Course Additional Entry
You will be expected to be a graduate with IT skills and to have at least 1 year's experience in training, education, human resources, publishing, marketing or associated media development. Non'graduates with 3 years' experience in at least one of these areas are also welcome to apply. If English is not your first language or you have not previously studied in English, our usual requirement is the equivalent of an International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic Test) score of 6.5, with not less than 6.0 in each of the sub'tests.
