Course Introduction

Through the development of new technologies and new applications, computer science radically and continually changes the way we experience our world, whether in gaming, communications, commerce, entertainment, science or education. This course assumes no prior knowledge of computer science and offers you the flexibility to pursue specialist areas of particular interest to you (eg web design, digital business, and internet security).

Course Modules

Year 1: Programming essentials; it toolbox; business organisation and practice; systems analysis and design; programming applications; information and communication technology; technology and change; group design workshop. Year 2: Advanced programming concepts; systems analysis and design; database systems; network communications; group design workshop; operating systems; information and project management; network software. Year 3: Project (double module); web'based enterprise services; Internet protocols and services; 4 option modules: broadband multimedia networks; e'commerce; mobile technology; internet security; digital communication principles.
