Course Modules

Year 1: becoming a sociologist; making sense of society 1; making sense of society 2; sociology and everyday life. Year 2: sociological research methods; sociological research methods; sociological theory. Optional modules: intimacy and the self; contemporary urban life; Londonopolis (exploring the global city); media in contemporary society; sociology of childhood; sociology and anthropology of human rights. Year 3: sociology of organisations; food and society; sociology of health and medicine; sociology of death; understanding globalisation; placement learning in sociology; doing social research; international human rights and criminal law; problems in social theory; children's rights; doing social research; childhood and psychoanalysis; global justice, security and society.
