Course Introduction

BA Interior and Spatial Design at Chelsea College of Arts develops students skills in designing, creating and conceptualising new spatial situations. This course prepares our students for a wide variety of careers in the design industry, where they can focus on designing complex architectural spaces, multi'media installations or sensory environments.

Course Modules

Year 1: Introduction to study in higher education; design exploration; design intelligence; history and theory, part 1 (introduction). Year 2: Territories of practice; spatial constructs; spatial instruction; history and theory, part 2 (cultural contexts). Year 3: Major design project; history and theory, part 3 (consolidation).
