Course Introduction

The course covers design for menswear and womenswear, product development, garment technology and pattern cutting. The course encourages creative thinking and innovative design approaches, and emphasises that 3D realisation is key to understanding the process of design and manufacture. The course covers a range of new and established technologies that give students an insight into manufacturing and design in the fashion industry.

Course Modules

Modules include: Fashion language and context; fashion analysis; fashion development; final realisation.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree or equivalent academic qualification; or professional qualifications recognised as equivalent to an Honours degree; or prior experiential learning, the outcome of which can be demonstrated to be equivalent to formal qualifications otherwise required; or a combination of formal qualifications and experiential learning, which, taken together, can be demonstrated to be equivalent to formal qualifications otherwise required. Exceptionally, applicants who do not meet these requirements may still be considered if the course team judges the application demonstrates additional strengths and alternative evidence. This might, for example, be demonstrated by: related academic or work experience; the quality of the personal statement; a strong academic or other professional reference; or a combination of these factors. Applicants whose 1st language is not English require IELTS 6.5 with a minimum of 5.5 in any 1 skill.
