Course Introduction

The programme deals mainly with the literary, theoretical and cultural dimensions of these relations, and also contains a unique practical component, in which you will be taught by practitioners from British and German cultural institutions, as well as by experts from the fields of publishing, translating and the media.

Course Modules

Modules include: Theory, and practice of Anglo'German cultural transfers; Anglo'German aesthetics in the 18th century; Anglo'German travel writing; mutual perceptions of identity; thinking translation.

Course Additional Entry

An Honours degree in German or with German as a principal component (1st or upper 2nd class Honours); Staatsexamen or equivalent qualification; proficiency in German and English.
